Anna Giveth and Anna Taketh Away: Miley Cyrus Not to Appear on ‘Vogue’ Cover

After Miley Cyrus’s foam finger, teddy bear, twerking mess spit-up on America’s televisions at the VMAs, the content hungry internet promptly churned its gears, squeezing out every possible story.  Posts disgusted with Miley’s raunchy act, responses shaming the slut-shamers, think-pieces on everything from race to sex — all of it illustrated in GIFs.

Perhaps the biggest statement made about Miley is what won’t be released be to the masses: Vogue’s December cover featuring the twenty year old pop-star.  According to The Wrap sources claim Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour found the former Disney star’s performance “distasteful” and she’ll be taking the cover in “a different direction.”  This is of course not out of the norm for Anna.  She also reportedly declined having baby North West on the cover despite Kanye’s urging (and Power Point presentation?).

As Anna herself said in a CBS interview in 2011, “To be in ‘Vogue’ has to mean something. It’s an endorsement. It’s a validation.”

In the infamous words of the Wintour inspired, fictional Miranda Priestly, “that’s all.”
