This week Matthew Weiner, the creator of AMC’s heavyweight show Mad Men, announced that the last season would be shot all at once, but divided into two parts. The first seven episodes will be “The Beginning,” and the last seven “The End of an Era” will air a year later.

What this means for them: Not having to compete with Breaking Bad at the Emmys during their last half of the season. Also, having to keep major secrets for the better part of a year while we patiently await the second half.
