We learned this week that the comedy duo will indeed be hosting the 2014 and 2015 Golden Globes. We’re all like:More photobombing! The Hollywood Foreign Press noted that their 2013 event had the highest Golden Globes ratings in six years (sorry Gervais). The event had 19.7 million viewers, certainly high for the Globes, and nearly a 20% increase over Gervais’s 2012 hosting gig. The pair first met in an improv group in 1993 in Chicago. Tina landed her first comedy job with Second City after Poehler moved to New York. Tina got a writing job at SNL in 1997, and Amy joined the cast in 2001. The rest is history, but you can read Vulture’s full version here.
The 71st annual Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast January 12th, live on NBC. Nomination ballots are due November 28ths, and nominees will be announced December 12th. Check out the official timeline here.
