NBC a.k.a. Satan announced Friday that “Parks and Recreation” is going on hiatus until sometime in early 2014, but will air a few new episodes in November. Whaaa?
In its place will be “The Voice,” football games, a random Halloween episode of “Saturday Night Live,” and other odds and ends. But the best part of all is the reasoning behind this depressing decision. Rolling Stone reported that Vulture hypothesized that “NBC wants to push more viewers towards its Thursday, 9 p.m. EST show Sean Saves the World.” Oh okay, so now NBC is playing the “overly compassionate coach” role, making the “good player” sit on the bench so the “bad player” looks better and can try to win some fans. When has that ever worked?
Here’s an idea – make the show better, then people will watch it along with “Parks and Rec”! Come on NBC, don’t deny America their weekly dose of Ron Swanson.
