For the second time in a row, it’s Robert Downey Jr. who they named, “The King.”
“He’s the star of two of the top five highest-grossing movies of all time,” reports Vulture. Those movies would be The Avengers and Ironman 3, which together ranked in a pretty 3.7 billion worldwide.
Vulture comes up with its “Most Valuable List” by looking at eight factors: Domestic box office, overseas box office, studio value, likability, Oscars, critics’ score, Twitter mentions, and tabloid score. You can read more about their method here.
Aside from Downey’s cinema creds, Vulture says his personality seals the deal, “His appeal is off the charts, and he has a studio rating third only to Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio’s. And he’s managed his stardom with grace and good humor, a remarkable turnaround from the drug-fueled days when he was an uninsurable lost boy.”
Alright Vulture, I guess we’ll give you this one. I still think no one, and I mean no one, can top Leo — your number two man and the actor you bequeath, “The Star Who Started Smiling Again.” The top ten is rounded out by Jennifer Lawrence, Sandra Bullock, Brad Pitt, Will Smith, Christian Bale, Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, and Johnny Depp.
